Thanks Sandy. I've used that 5-6 shot buffer before and I find that it helps from time to time. Although, sometimes I feel that it prolongs the waiting.

I've been doing a lot of test shots with several of my 35mm cameras (of which I have many) and am reminded that good photography is still work. For now I'm committed to my SD14 in hopes that the SD15 will improve on the two main issues I have with it.

I rec'd a link to your blog via a Google alert for Sigma SD14, and I'd like to comment on your 'lock up' point. Do you realize that the SD14 has a 5-6 shot buffer for highest res RAW mode? Then you have to wait for the buffer to clear room for another shot. This is not a "lock up" in the sense of battery drainage, low battery or the camera hanging in any abnormal way. That's just how the SD14 buffer fills with the files while writing to CF card.
Best regards, Sandy
